Neopentyl glycol

Neopentyl glycol is the 1 white crystalline chemical material, odorless, hygroscopic, can be used for the selective separation of aromatic hydrocarbons and cycloalkyl hydrocarbons. Neopentyl glycol is widely used, mainly as the production of unsaturated resin, polyester powder coating, oil-free alkyd resin, printing ink, synthetic aviation lubricating oil, polyurethane foam plasticizer, synthetic plasticizer, surfactant, insulating material, inhibitor, oil additives, etc. Small irritation to skin. However, large amounts of drinking can stimulate the central nervous system, causing vomiting, fatigue, lethargy, dyspnea, tremor, renal congestion and bleeding, liver fatty lesions, closed urine, bronchitis and pneumonia and other symptoms, and even lead to death in severe cases.

The main applications are as follows:

Saturated polyester for powder coatings, coil coatings and other baking paints. (about 70% of neopentyl glycol consumption). The raw materials of polyester resin are mainly terephthalic acid (PTA) and neopentyl glycol (NPG), in which PTA accounts for 40% ~ 45% of the cost of polyester resin, and NPG accounts for 35% ~ 40% of the cost of polyester resin.

Unsaturated polyesters for gel lacquers and FRP products (about 13% of neopentyl glycol consumption)

Oil-free alkyd resin (about 9% of neopentyl glycol consumption)

Polyurethanes for coatings, blowing agents and elastomers. Neopentyl glycol is mainly used in the polyurethane field to produce polyester polyols, which are mainly used in non-foam polyurethanes, such as thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyurethane coatings, casting elastomers and adhesives.

High-grade lubricants. Plant oleic acid neopentyl glycol to benzoic acid complex ester, oleic acid neopentyl glycol phthalic acid complex ester, rapeseed acid neopentyl glycol decanoic acid complex ester.

Low temperature resistant plasticizer.

Halogen-containing flame retardants.

Storage and Packaging of Neopentyl Glycol:

The bag is packed, the inner layer is plastic bag, the outer layer is woven bag, 25 KG/bag. Store in a cool, ventilated place, sunscreen, heat, moisture. Neopentyl glycol has a high relative humidity and must be stored and handled carefully to prevent moisture. Storage and transportation shall be in accordance with general chemical regulations.
