Lithium sulfate is used as a raw material for special high-strength glass. Analytical reagent. Pharmaceutical industry.

Lithium sulfate has 3 crystal types, monoclinic crystal system (α type), hexagonal crystal system (β type) and cubic crystal system (γ type). There are anhydrous and monohydrate. Li2SO4-H2O monohydrate: colorless monoclinic or cubic crystal system needle-like crystals. Colorless crystals of anhydrous substance. There are 3 crystal types, namely α-type, β-type and γ-type. There is hygroscopicity.

Transforms from α-type to β-type at 500℃ and from β-type to γ-type at 575℃. Insoluble in ethanol, acetone, soluble in water. Lithium sulfate is an important inorganic chemical reagent, mainly used in analytical reagents, separation of calcium and magnesium and the pharmaceutical industry, also commonly used with the manufacture of pyrotechnics.
