The anti internal competition sentiment is rising, and the price of lithium carbonate is also rebounding. The price increase has been going on for a month since the end of June. On July 25th, the price of lithium carbonate welcomed good news again and hit the limit up this morning. The price has rebounded to around 80000 yuan per ton, a surge of 40%. Lithium carbonate has continued to rise in recent days. On the morning of the 25th, the main contract for lithium carbonate reached 80000 yuan/ton, and as of 10:30, it hit the daily limit up, an increase of 7.99%, to 80520 yuan/ton. According to CLPC data, the lithium carbonate market has shown a significant increase this week. The average price of battery grade lithium carbonate increased from 68000 yuan/ton at the beginning of the week to 705500 yuan/ton; The average price of industrial grade lithium carbonate has increased from 66350 yuan/ton to 68900 yuan/ton.

Since late June, the current price of lithium carbonate has risen synchronously, and the market has shown a significant rebound trend. Industry insiders say that although the current supply and demand pattern has not yet reversed, the gap between lithium salt supply and demand will continue to narrow in 2025, and the fundamentals of "white oil" have shown signs of improvement.

From the supply side, Yichun City requires 8 lithium mining enterprises to complete mineral reserve verification by the end of September, which has led to expectations of a contraction in the supply of mica lithium extraction; Some domestic lithium mining enterprises have stopped production for maintenance or encountered issues such as renewal of lithium mining licenses, further supporting the rise of lithium carbonate futures prices. From the demand side, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 6.937 million units (including exports) from January to June 2025, a year-on-year increase of 40.3%. Meanwhile, data from the Research Center of the Power Battery Application Branch shows that from January to June 2025, the installed capacity of power batteries for new energy vehicles in China reached 302.24GWh, a year-on-year increase of 48.8%. It can be seen that the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry has driven a sustained increase in demand for power batteries. In addition, in the first half of this year, China's new energy storage market also maintained a strong growth trend, with the total installed capacity of new energy storage reaching a new high year-on-year. This means that the two major fields of new energy mentioned above constitute important driving forces for the growth of demand for lithium carbonate, the core raw material of lithium batteries. With the expansion of downstream markets, the demand for lithium carbonate will become even stronger.
